Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with our experience here, particularly with the lack of transparency regarding additional charges. My friend and I each booked $60 nail services. Before adding chrome, we were specifically told that it would be an additional $10–$15. We agreed to that charge and had absolutely no problem paying for it. I appreciated being told the price beforehand so we could make that choice. What we were not told was that removing my existing dip would cost an additional $35, or that removing my friend’s existing gel would cost an additional $15. Those two removal charges added another $50 to our bill, and we didn’t learn about them until we received the final bill. I later learned that the removal prices are listed on Frenchies’ website. I understand that I could have looked up the pricing beforehand. However, if the salon verbally discloses a $10–$15 chrome upcharge before performing it, I believe a $35 dip-removal charge—more than half the cost of my $60 service—should certainly be disclosed beforehand as well. Had I been told, I could have decided whether I wanted to proceed. Our final bill for two $60 services was $193 before tip. After I got home and realized exactly how the bill was calculated, I called the salon and calmly explained my concern. I was told they would issue a 25% credit back to the credit card used to pay our bill. I appreciated that response and considered the issue resolved. Unfortunately, the promised credit was never issued. That is ultimately what disappointed me most. A business is entitled to set its own prices, even if I personally think $35 to remove dip before performing another nail service is excessive. But customers should be clearly informed of significant additional charges before the service is performed—and if you tell a customer you are going to issue a credit to resolve a concern, you should follow through. I’m attaching our receipt so other customers can see the charges for themselves. My advice would simply be to ask about every removal and add-on charge before your service begins, even if it isn’t mentioned to you. Unfortunately, based on both the unexpected charges and the promised credit that was never provided, I would not return. UPDATE AFTER OWNER RESPONSE: I’m very disappointed to see the salon state in its response that the $35 dip-removal charge was discussed with me prior to my service. It was not. We were specifically told beforehand that chrome would be an additional $10–$15, and we agreed to that charge. There was no similar conversation telling me that removing my dip would cost an additional $35 or that my friend’s gel removal would cost an additional $15. We learned about those charges when we reviewed the bill. In fact, when I called afterward specifically to ask about the unexpected removal charges, the technician who performed my service explained to me then that dip removal costs more because it takes considerably longer to remove than gel. That explanation was given to me after the service, not before it. I also found that explanation surprising because my friend, who had gel removed, began her appointment approximately 10 minutes before mine, yet we finished at essentially the same time. During my dip removal, my nails were filed so aggressively that I repeatedly experienced a burning sensation. I do appreciate that Frenchies has acknowledged that the 25% credit they promised me was never processed and that this was an oversight on their part. However, I’m disappointed that their response also states that the $35 charge was discussed with me beforehand. I am certain that conversation did not occur. I stand by my original review.

Hi T, Webb, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you left feeling disappointed. We would like to clarify that the dip removal charge was discussed with you prior to the service. We strive to communicate service pricing and add-on costs so our guests can make informed decisions before proceeding. That said, we understand your frustration regarding the 25% credit that was promised after your call with us and was not processed. This was an oversight on our part, and we sincerely apologize for that mistake. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, as it allows us to address the issue and improve our follow-through. Please contact us directly so we can ensure the promised credit is issued and properly resolved. Thank you again for your feedback. We value every guest experience and hope to have the opportunity to restore your confidence in us. Love, Frenchies Southlake family
