This was my first time at a hair salon ever, and wow, I am hair dural really pamper you. I was actually quite nervous, as I planned to chop off about half a meter of my long hair.. However from the moment I walked in the door, I was made to I feel comfortable and truely looked after. Tracy their curly hair specialist is amazing! We did a full hairstyle change, and I couldn’t be happier with both the result and service. Such a well run salon, worth the $.

UPDATE: The salon has called to apologise after the review and provided a refund for the consultation cost which is definitely appreciated, however my experience still stands A very disappointing experience. I called the salon beforehand and was told the service I was looking to have done would be starting from $525 and that a consultation was needed to confirm the price. Getting my hair done these days with a little one is a luxury in itself so I wanted to make sure it was going to be within my budget so I drove an hour to attend the consultation. Five minutes before arriving, I got a call from the salon saying there was a $10 consultation deposit, which I needed to pay but wasn’t initially advised of . As I had already driven anll the way there I agreed to pay. After arriving I was greeted, offered a menu and waited for about 10 mins for the stylist and the service was pleasant. After the consultation, I was quoted approximately $736, a LOT more than I was originally quoted or expecting so I was glad I had the consultation. I understand these things can be varied however was still taken aback by the significant price jump at this stage however I was still considering treating myself to the experience. As I was leaving and preparing to pay the $10, I was then told the consultation fee was actually $50. I was never told about a $50 fee, nor did I agree to pay one. When I questioned it, I was made to feel pressured and as though it was my fault. I paid because I had my baby with me and did not want to be put in an uncomfortable situation. I totally get salon fees differ and quotes can vary significantly however the lack of transparency makes a client feel pressured. Regarding the consultation fee, if there is one it should be clearly disclosed before even booking the appointment not at the end of the service. Charging a fee that was never communicated or agreed to is unacceptable. Very unprofessional and unethical. I will not be returning and feel very taken advantage of.

We completely understand your concerns, and while the $50 consultation fee was communicated prior to your appointment, and also available on our website and next to the 'Book Now' button when booking. We were more than happy to provide a refund as a gesture of good will.
Love all the girls at I am hair and the atmosphere is so calming and relaxing. The service was outstanding and the staffs knowledge and kindness is commendable. I enjoyed the entire experience and I am thrilled with the result. I am hair is the place for all your hair needs.
I had the most wonderful experience with Liz. She completely transformed my hair & I couldn’t be happier with the result. From the moment I sat in her chair, she was so attentive, thoughtful & genuinely listened to what I wanted, while also sharing her expertise & recommendations. I really valued her knowledge & trusted her vision completely — and she absolutely worked her magic! I walked out feeling like a completely new version of myself. The makeover was exactly what I needed & I’m so in love with my hair! Thank you so much, Liz, for making me feel amazing. Can’t wait for my next visit!
Liz is so thorough with her consultation at the start, ensuring we are aligned on the direction of the appointment and intended outcome. My hair always feels and looks fresh and revitalized + we have a good laugh!
Elizabeth was absolutely amazing! She really took the time to listen to all my concerns about my fringe and restyle cut, and we worked together to set some goals for where I’d like to take my hair. She was so personable and made me feel completely comfortable. Her hair-cutting skills are incredible, and I’m so happy with the result. I’ll definitely be coming back. All the staff were friendly and lovely too. The tea and scalp massage were such a treat too.
All the stylists are fantastic with the quality of their work. They all are lovely ladies and create a great relaxing, pleasant and stress free environment that makes every visit a wonderful experience

Tash absolutely nails it every single time! 🤍 Walking in, I’m always greeted with a smile and the best service. It’s not just a hair appointment, it’s a space where you feel remembered and cared for. Tash always checks in, remembers the little details about me and my hair, and makes every appointment feel so personal. She absolutely kills the colour and styling every time, and I always walk away looking and feeling my best with gorgeous hair. Couldn’t recommend Tash enough! 🤍
I’ve been seeing Liz for a bit less than 1 year. She is incredible at every visit. Her skills, warmth, and professionalism are outstanding! I love the salon atmosphere and how they treat every client in a special way.
Today was my first visit to I Am Hair, and I had such a lovely experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming and accommodating, and I couldn’t be happier with my hair! Tash absolutely nailed my desired colour and made the whole process feel effortless. I’m genuinely obsessed with the result and will definitely be back very soon. Thank you so much!

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Let me be clear: this review is not about Georgia. She is an exceptional stylist, and I've been to her many times. She is the only reason I ever visited this salon. This review is entirely about the salon's management and their complete lack of customer service. I booked my sister with Georgia for a 10:15 am appointment. She arrived at 9:50 am and checked in. At around 9:55 am, she was offered a tea and told, "Tina will be with you shortly." She immediately questioned this because we had specifically booked with Georgia. The receptionist insisted their system showed no stylist preference, even though we absolutely booked with Georgia. What makes this even more frustrating is that the booking confirmation, text message, and email never mentioned the stylist's name. Had they shown anyone other than Georgia, we would have questioned it immediately. Even Georgia later said, "I thought it was weird you weren't booked with me." If the salon recognised something was unusual, why didn't anyone contact us before the appointment instead of waiting until we arrived? From that point, the salon knew there was a booking issue. Instead of resolving it, they left my sister waiting while staff stood around reception trying to work out what to do. The appointment they claimed had "started" wasn't even until 10:15 am. They had around 25 minutes to correct the error or discuss a solution. Instead, they waited until 10:15 am to charge us a cancellation fee. The irony is that Tina was still with another client at 10:15 am, so no one was even available to see my sister. After making her wait for nearly an hour, they finally told us Georgia couldn't fit her in and that we'd have to rebook. Then they demanded a $200 fee. Their justification was that the appointment had already "started." How can an appointment be considered started when the booked stylist never saw the client and the replacement stylist wasn't even available? My sister was charged $200 for a service she never received because of what appears to have been the salon's own booking mistake. What was even more shocking was the attitude from management. I asked, "Are you really willing to lose two loyal clients over this?" Their response was simply, "Yes." That response tells you everything you need to know about how they value their customers. There was no apology, no accountability, and no attempt to resolve the situation fairly. Georgia is an incredible stylist, and this review is in no way a reflection of her. Unfortunately, because of the salon's management, I will never spend another dollar here and will never recommend this salon to anyone. I'm fully expecting the salon to respond, as they have to other negative reviews, by trying to justify their actions or present a different version of events. That's their choice. It doesn't change the facts: my sister waited from 9:50 am until almost 11:00 am, the salon knew from around 9:55 am there was a booking issue, no stylist was available when the appointment was due to begin at 10:15 am, she never received any service, and she was still charged $200.

Emma, We're disappointed to read your review as it does not accurately reflect what occurred on the day. Within 10 minutes of your review being posted, we attempted to contact you numerous times directly in the hope of resolving the matter professionally. Unfortunately, you chose to not answer Firstly, your sister's appointment was booked online with Tash, not Georgia. This is clearly reflected in our booking system. Attaching screenshots of your confirmation does not change that fact, as your appointment confirmation does not specify a requested stylist. Had the appointment been booked with Georgia, we would never have reserved five hours of another stylist's time, as doing so would unnecessarily impact both our team and other clients. When your sister advised she only wished to be seen by Georgia, our team immediately tried to find a solution. The time spent waiting was not because staff were delaying a decision or "standing around" it was because we were actively exploring whether Georgia could accommodate the request without disrupting clients who had specifically booked with her months in advance. Unfortunately, that was not possible. What is most disappointing is the expectation that other clients, who had planned ahead and secured appointments with Georgia well in advance, should have been moved to accommodate your sister. Every client who walks through our doors is equally important. We will never compromise another client's appointment because someone decides on the day they only wish to see a different stylist. Our team remained respectful throughout the interaction and were simply trying to help. Unfortunately, the way they were spoken to while attempting to assist was unacceptable. Georgia also took the time to consult with your sister, however it became clear that she was only willing to proceed if Georgia completed the service. We provided options to move forward; however, those options were declined because they were not considered acceptable. The appointment time reserved with Tash remained unavailable to other clients for five hours. Once your sister chose not to proceed with the stylist the appointment had been booked with, the appointment could not be filled at such short notice. As a result, the cancellation fee was applied in accordance with our booking policy. We respected your sister's decision not to proceed, and we expect the same respect for our team's time and the time reserved on our schedule. Finally, there is absolutely no possibility that my front of house team told you they were "happy to lose clients." That statement is completely inconsistent with who they are and how they conduct themselves. I have every confidence in my team, and I stand behind both their professionalism and the way they handled this situation. We see hundreds of clients every week, and every one of them deserves fairness and consistency. While we appreciate you are disappointed with the outcome, we remain confident that our team acted professionally, respectfully and in line with our booking policies. We made every reasonable effort to accommodate your sister despite the appointment not being booked with Georgia. We wish you both all the best moving forward.
